Wi-Fi Spectrum View

Network Survey includes a Wi-Fi spectrum view for visualizing channel usage, signal strength, and network overlap across all Wi-Fi bands.

Accessing the Feature

From Wi-Fi Networks:

  1. Tap the spectrum icon in the top right corner of the Wi-Fi networks screen
  2. Requires Wi-Fi enabled and location permission

What You’ll See

The spectrum view shows all detected Wi-Fi networks organized by frequency band with signal strength and channel usage visualization.

Common Use Cases

Site Surveys:

  • Identify least congested channels before deploying new access points
  • Optimal channels: 1, 6, or 11 (2.4 GHz); any available channel with minimal overlap (5/6 GHz)

Troubleshooting Interference:

  • Identify channel congestion and overlapping networks
  • Find clearer channels to improve performance

Network Planning:

  • Visualize all APs in a building
  • Assign non-overlapping channels across multiple access points
  • Identify rogue or unauthorized APs
