Installation

Network Survey is available through multiple distribution channels. Choose the option that best suits your needs.

The easiest way to install Network Survey is through the Google Play Store.

Get it on Google Play

Play Store Version Includes:

  • Automatic updates via Google Play
  • Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics (for crash reporting)
  • Standard CDR logging (limited)

CDR Limitations:

  • SMS events are NOT logged in CDR files
  • Phone numbers associated with calls are NOT logged
  • These limitations are due to Google Play Store policies

IzzyOnDroid is an F-Droid-compatible repository that provides faster updates than the official F-Droid repository.

IzzyOnDroid Version Includes:

  • No Firebase tracking
  • Full CDR logging support

F-Droid is a catalog of free and open-source Android apps.

Download APK files directly from GitHub releases. This is useful if you want a specific version or the CDR variant.

Latest Release: View on GitHub

Two APK variants are available:

  1. networksurvey-regular-release.apk

    • Same as Play Store version but without automatic updates
    • Firebase Analytics included
  2. networksurvey-cdr-release.apkRecommended for advanced users

    • Full CDR logging (includes SMS events and phone numbers)
    • No Firebase Analytics

Installation Steps:

  1. Navigate to the Releases Page
  2. Download the desired APK file from the latest release
  3. On your Android device, go to Settings → Security
  4. Enable Install apps from unknown sources (or approve for your browser/file manager)
  5. Open the downloaded APK file and tap Install

Recommendations:

  • Developers/Testers: Build from source

  • Android Version: 8.0 (Oreo) or higher
  • Permissions: Location, Phone State, Notifications
  • Android Version: 12.0 or higher for best compatibility
  • GPS: Built-in GPS for accurate location data
  • Camera: For scanning QR codes (MQTT/NS Analytics setup)
