Is Network Survey free?

Yes, completely free. The Android app has no ads, no subscriptions, no in-app purchases. It’s free forever.

NS Analytics (web platform) has a free tier and paid plans for more capacity.

Is Network Survey open source?

What Android versions are supported?

Android 8.0+ required. Some features need newer versions. The latest Android version is recommended.

Which version should I install?

  • Play Store: Most users.
  • CDR (IzzyOnDroid/F-Droid/GitHub): Privacy-focused, full CDR logging. See Build Variants.

What networks can Network Survey detect?

Cellular (GSM/CDMA/UMTS/LTE/5G), Wi-Fi (2.4/5/6 GHz), Bluetooth (Classic & BLE), GNSS (GPS/GLONASS/Galileo/BeiDou/QZSS/IRNSS).

Does Network Survey work offline?

Yes, file logging works offline. Internet required for MQTT/gRPC streaming, NS Analytics, and tower map.

Where is my data stored?

  • Local: Download/NetworkSurveyData/
  • Cloud (optional): NS Analytics, MQTT/gRPC, or OpenCelliD/BeaconDB if enabled.

Is my data private?

Yes, by default. Data stays on your device unless you:

  • Enable MQTT/gRPC streaming
  • Register with NS Analytics
  • Upload to public databases

Can I delete my data?

Local data: Delete files anytime

Uploaded data:

  • NS Analytics: Delete from workspace
  • MQTT/gRPC: Depends on your server

How do I start a survey?

Grant permissions, tap technology card, toggle “Logging” ON. See Quick Start.

How do I export files?

USB transfer, file manager apps, or NS Analytics sync. See Quick Start.

How do I stream data?

Configure MQTT or gRPC in Menu → Connection settings. See MQTT Streaming or gRPC Streaming.

Do I need NS Analytics?

No. Network Survey works independently. NS Analytics is optional for:

  • Web-based visualization
  • Team collaboration

How do I connect to NS Analytics?

Sign up, get QR code from workspace, scan in Network Survey → Menu → NS Analytics. See QR Code Registration.

Advanced Questions

Can Network Survey detect 5G?

Yes, 5G NR is fully supported. Requires 5G-capable device and active 5G network coverage.

Does Network Survey support dual SIM?

Yes, logs data from both SIMs with SIM slot identifier.
